In collaboration with the Zürcher Theater Spektakel, one of Europe's
most important festivals for contemporary forms of the performing arts,
the MA programme in Transdisciplinary Studies is holding a summer school
for the third time, taking advantage of the coming together of numerous
guest artists and the unique atmosphere of the location on Lake Zurich
for its work.

The Summer School explores how artistic strategies
can be used to create spaces for exchange about effective forms of
resistance and (self-)defence. At the centre of the programme is an
encounter and collaboration with the Laboratory of Insurrectionary
Imagination, a collective of artists and activists who explore creative
forms of direct action. Drawing on theatre, performance and visual arts,
they have developed a practice that seeks to intervene in social
contexts in ways that are both playful and politically effective.
Further workshops, including one with British-Rwandan singer, performer
and choreographer Dorothée Munyaneza, as well as a series of talks and
discussions moderated by Dutch-Swiss artist and performer Yan Duyvendak,
complement the programme. In addition, the theatre spectacle provides
an opportunity to engage with other artistic positions in performances
and discussions with selected artists.
