Artists are not self-contained, autonomous individuals. The social conditions and interdependencies produced different types of artists at different times. We will take a closer look at these changing movements, which determine the image of the artist invisibly, as it were. The seminar deals with the image of the artist.

A focus is on the verbal expressions of artists. Which image do they create of themselves? How do we weight such statements? And above all: What is the relationship between such statements and the work? Which social ideals and narratives influence these self-expressions? In addition, we discuss how the participants understand themselves as artists.
