This seminar follows up on the module "History and Theory of Exhibitions
I". It features in-depth analysis of exhibitions that have shifted the
conversation in the arts and beyond. Under what circumstances do
exhibitions make a difference? What is the relation between the
conceptual re-framing of history and the experience of an exhibition at a
given time? We also attempt to further expand the framework for
exhibition histories beyond the canon of the visual arts and the modern
museum. Field trips, archival research and invited guests further
complement this survey of the cultural grammar of the medium exhibition.
