      Attendance

      In the contact hours a minimum attendance of 80% is required to pass the course. Contact hours: kick-off, input session, mentoring, presentation.


      Grading

      Grades will be based on final presentation, final work and deliverables.
      • 20% Final presentation
      • 50% Final work (Concept, GUI, Micro Interactions, Prototype)
      • 30% Deliverables


      Deliverables

      All deliverables have to be uploaded to the filer until Monday 19.10.2020 at 9 am.
      • PDF Documentation (to be stored in a file labelled “Documentation”)
      • Mockup & screencast of interaction with the mockup. A short video (~2min) of the project (to be stored in a file labelled “Video”)
      • Text file including the project title, a short description, and a project description (in a file to be labeled “Texts”)
      • Approx. 10 representative images of the project (to be stored in a file labeled “Images”)

      Expenses

      Please be aware that your expenses can only be refunded if you submit the complete documents no later than 4 weeks after the end of the module.

  • Design Brief

    In this area you will find the briefing of the course and where we want to be at the end.

    • Starting position

      We can all live sustainably and help build a better world for everyone. But this means taking a look at how we live and understanding how our lifestyle choices impact the world around us. We make hundreds of thousands of decisions during the course of our lives. The choices we make and the lifestyles we live have a profound impact on our planet. (ACTNOW) But how much do we know about the energy we use every day? And how much do we know about the energy we waste every day? Which decisions would we make differently if we knew something about it? How can we use AR technology on smart phones to educate? What opportunities does it offer us to sensitize people to save energy and make other decisions to make a better world?

      AR / MR extends what you see in the real world with a virtual computer-generated component, using technical aids such as smartphone / tablet apps or (especially in the corporate sector) glasses such as the Microsoft HoloLens. Predefined text information, images or videos are then offered to the user in real time. Depending on the app, spatial objects / objects can also be displayed, with which one can interact. The trigger for the display can be GPS data (the user is at a certain geographical location), special markers or objects that are recorded with the camera, as well as content that is permanently stored in the app.


      Aim

      Develop an AR application for the smart phone to make people aware of energy and energy consumption. The application is shown using a prototyping tool.

    Explore, Requirements Gathering & Design Concept

    • The explore phase is our hard drive for all relevant information about our users and their needs as well as the general context in which our application is embedded. In the first week we already start with the design concept.

    • In the fourth week you define and create the designlanguage and the microinteractions.

  • 05 Week | 12.10. – 16.10.20

    Design Documentation & Communication

    • In the last week, the application is refined and documented. On Friday morning a final presentation will take place.

      Each group has 15 minutes for the final presentation. During 10 minutes each group presents their project. This is followed by 5 minutes of Question - Answer.
