  • BASIC GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE 2020

Interface study to record physio therapeutic interventions

Knowledge of health-related assessments and interventions is an elementary resource for health professionals and other interest groups, such as scientists. This knowledge should be made accessible to all who want to access it with a legitimate interest. In the area of therapeutic interventions in particular, however, there is a deficit of clearly structured, accessible information. The descriptions are too imprecise to understand which therapies the patients have received or which elements they have been composed of. Due to the inaccuracy, valuable information is lost in order to better adapt the interventions to the target group. The interface study is based on the international classification for health interventions of the WHO.

    Double Diamond

    Phase

    Discover

The first diamond helps people understand, rather than simply assume,
what the problem is. It involves speaking to and spending time
with people who are affected by the issues.

    – Desk Research, Field research, Interviews, extremely users interviews

    Define

The insight gathered from the discovery phase can help you to define
the challenge in a different way.

    – Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, Sketching, etc.
    – Take one or more of the above methods to rethink the scenario.
    – Be "wild" and come back with innovative and striking solutions
of which you hadn't thought of before.

Wireframe Screen Flow Diagram, Mood board
    – Draw individual screen wireframes that are connected with each
other to show the flow in your application. Traditionally,
the mood board is a big collage consisting of photos, apps, texts,
illustrations and other materials that show the look and feel.
The mood board shows links between the things and supports
       the imagination of new ways.

    Design GUI
    – Using the mood board, a skin for the application is developed.
Software: Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Adobe XD etc.

    Click-Dummy
    – A clickable mockup of the final UI. Software: Figma, Flinto, Framer,
Origami, Invision, Principle, Flinto, Adobe XD etc.

    Develop

The second diamond encourages people to give different answers
to the clearly defined problem, seeking inspiration from
elsewhere and co-designing with a range of different people.

    User-test
    – The Click-Dummy is tested with three test users that solve
a typical exercise. They are filmed and asked to think aloud while
       using the app.

    Deliver

Delivery involves testing out different solutions at small-scale,
rejecting those that will not work and improving the ones that will.

    Attendance

In the contact hours a minimum attendance of 80% is required
to pass the module. Contact hours: classes, kick-off,
    input session, mentoring, presentation.

    Task

The task is to develop a user interface that makes it possible
to enter the intervention components as simply
    and efficiently as possible.

    Setting

The digital transformation increases the chance to decode
the black box interventions:  Digital techniques can
be used to structure and analyze information. For this purpose,
a digital knowledge database for therapeutic
interventions is being developed. It should later include
    examination results, intervention components and
possible influencing factors such as the age of the individual
patient. The structured recording of the intervention
components should be based on the international classification
for health interventions (ICHI) of the WHO.

    Deliverables

See the IAD documentation guidelines for the standard material.

    Documentation; format: PDF
Video / Screencast; add the IAD intro and closing credits to your videos
Images (Screenshots & Usage Scenarios); approx. 10 representative images of the project
Text (project title, short description, project description)
    Click-Dummy

All deliverables have to be uploaded to the filer until Monday 08.06.2020 at 9 am.

    Grading

Grades will be based on final presentation, final work and deliverables.

    Final presentation: 20%
Final work (Concept, GUI, Click-dummy): 50%
    Deliverables: 30%

    Mentoring vs. Atelier Visit

    Mentoring

Mentoring is mandatory. In a mentoring, we expect you to show
us specific things which are defined in before-hand.
Prepare yourselves and use the given time in the best possible way.

    Atelier Visit

Atelier Visits are voluntary. If you have questions and/or
want to have feedback on certain things, you can be present
in the group zoom rooms at the defined period of time. The mentors
will just pop by. We recommend to use those chances to get
    specific feedback on your project.

    Presentation

If you choose to share your screen to show either keynote slides
or Figma prototypes during a presentation, please end
the screen sharing as soon as you're done. It's better to talk to each
    other in the «gallery view».

    • Week 1

In the first week, we start with a kick-off, where you get to know the topic
of this year's Basic GUI module. Furthermore, our collaboration
partner Dr. Christoph Bauer, head of research group «Bewegungslabor»
at the ZHAW. You will start working in groups via online collaboration
tools (Figma) and diving into the world of physiotherapy by interviewing
      important stakeholders.
